If you are planning on using insurance to pay for your sessions, please contact your insurance company prior to your initial session for information on how your plan covers outpatient nutrition therapy.

Here are some questions to ask when contacting your insurance company about your benefits:

• Does my insurance plan cover outpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT procedure codes 97802 & 97803)? 

• Is there a limit on the number of sessions (or units) covered? 

• Do I have an out-of-pocket max or a deductible that I have to meet first?

• Do I need a referral from my primary care provider (PCP)?​​​​

• Are there specific diagnosis code restrictions?

For all other insurance plans: Most insurance plans offer out-of-network (OON) benefits and will reimburse a portion of nutrition therapy services.  I can provide you with a monthly statement (“superbill”) that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
