Elizabeth Payne MPH RDN CD (they/them & she/her)
I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist specializing in eating disorders, disordered eating, chronic dieting, Health at Every Size (HAES), intuitive eating, and trauma-informed nutrition.
I love working with clients to help them reconnect with the
wisdom of their bodies and build a more trusting, joyful relationship with food. I provide evidence-based, trauma-informed nutrition therapy using a non-diet and Health at Every Size approach that emphasizes social justice, attuned eating, body-trust, and weight-inclusivity. I believe that the work of eating disorder recovery is culture-change work and I am passionate about empowering clients to find freedom from their eating disorders.

I have worked with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings at the partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP) and outpatient levels of care.

My Approach
Client-centered: I believe you are the expert on you. I will listen deeply and respectfully to help you uncover what is needed to heal your relationship with food. I will not attempt to “fix” you – you are not in need of fixing, you are in need of support.
Based on body-trust: I believe in the innate wisdom of our bodies. I will work with you to achieve a relationship with food and body that honors the needs of your unique body, your lifestyle, your identities, your communities.
Anti-oppression and trauma-informed: the experience of living under chronic oppression (from structural racism, sexism, ableism, sizeism/fat-phobia to name just a few examples) can be traumatic. Experiences of abuse, assault, neglect, as well as catastrophic events such as a global pandemic can also be traumatic. I understand how oppression and trauma can shape our orientation to and relationship with food and body. This is important context for our work together.
Health at Every Size aligned: I am aligned with the principles of Health at Every Size, and I am fat-positive.
