Embodied Nutrition Therapy

Your body is not the problem. It's the answer.

Embodied nutrition is about learning how to nourish your body in attunement with your values, your desires, your needs. So many of the social conditions we live under disrupt our ability to fully inhabit and trust our bodies. Diet culture teaches us to look at our bodies from outside of ourselves, to objectify and critique, to be dependent on external measures of food and body. White supremacy culture teaches us that some bodies are more valuable than others and much of the trauma that folks with marginalized identities withstand (racism, gender oppression, homophobia, class oppression, sizeism etc.) is often left unnamed and unaddressed. Experiences of trauma and oppression can make it difficult to feel at home in our bodies. It can be very challenging to feed a body we don’t feel safe in, or don’t trust, or can’t feel. Embodied nutrition offers a path back to the body, to knowing how to feed yourself because you can feel and trust yourself. Embodied nutrition feeds the whole self, mind, body, and soul.

... but this body
is home, my childhood
is buried here, my sleep
rises and sets inside,
desire
crested and wore itself
thin
between these bones—
I live here.
